The date of the Stern -ID enforcement begins on May 7th

Huntsville, ala. (Waff) – An important date is approaching: May 7th is the first day on which the Star ID law is enforced in the United States.

After May 7th, you must not go on board without a star or a valid passport without a star or a valid pass.

This is part of the safe confidence and reliable ID law that the Congress 2005 has passed to ensure a safe journey in our country.

If you would like to receive the Star -ID until the enforcement date, you have to make plans for a driver’s license office as soon as possible. Most offices are fully booked by May 7th and have long waiting times. You can still use the option for walk -in options if an office offers it.

Trooper Brandon Bailey from Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said there is one thing that people should remember if the enforcement date approaches quickly.

“We want to be clear – it is actually not a deadline; it is a enforcement date,” said Trooper Bailey. “People in panic when they see May 7th and they think that after this date we are unable to travel, unless we have this star -ID, but that’s not the last day, May 7th is exactly the day we will enforce this.”

Madison County’s estate judge, Frank Barger, told Waff 48 News that people now have to make plans so that their summer vacation plans are not affected.

“With the passes you can travel in the USA or outside the USA without this star, but if you don’t have a passport and you do not intend to apply for a passport, I would make sure that you are in order because you can only travel via aircraft carriers in the USA if you have this star -DID or have a pass.
