The final season of Beastars, Part 1, is now streaming on Netflix and reveals opening and ending videos

Netflix has started streaming Part 1 of BEASTARS LAST SEASONand they also released the opening and ending videos. The anime will stream exclusively on the platform, with part 2 expected at a later date. Studio ORANGE is responsible for the animation.

The opening theme song is “Into the world” by issei and you can hear it in the opening video below.

New additions to the cast were also announced:

  • Hoko Kuwashima as Reano (Legoshi’s mother)
  • Yuko Minaguchi as Toki (Gosha’s wife and Legoshi’s grandmother)
  • Tomokazu Seki as Deshico (black market researcher)
  • Ryusei Nakao as Cornu (secret service agent’s mouse)
  • Ruriko Aoki as Azuki (Louis’ fiancée)
  • Tomokazu Sugita as Holger (tattoo artist sloth)

Beastars Final Season Part 1 Key Visual

The anime first revealed character designs and set a 2024 release date at Netflix’s Anime Expo 2023 panel. Shinichi Matsumi, who directed the first two seasons, returned as director BEASTARS LAST SEASONalong with Nao Ootsu as character designer. Nanami Higuchi was responsible for the script and Satoru Kosaki for the music. The main voice cast includes:

  • Chikahiro Kobayashi as Legoshi
  • Yuki Ono as Louis
  • Sayaka Senbongi as Haru
  • Akio Otsuka as Gohin
  • Junya Enoki as Jack
  • Atsumi Tanezaki as Juno
  • Koji Okino as Melon
  • Yuki Kaji as Pina
  • Shigeru Chiba as Gosha
  • Tessho Genda as Sagwan
  • Shinichiro Miki as Yahya

Paru Itakagi wrote and illustrated this BEASTARS Manga that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion from 2016 to 2020. A total of 196 chapters were summarized in 22 volumes.

Viz Media licensed it BEASTARS Manga in English, and they describe the story:
One night at Cherryton Academy, a herbivore student is brutally murdered. Among the Drama Club members, herbivore suspicion naturally turns to their carnivorous classmates… The prime suspect? Wolf Legoshi. But he wouldn’t harm a fly. Or would he? Will Haru the Dwarf Rabbit bring out the beast in him? Or are his feelings for her… something else?

Another work by Paru Itakagi, SANDAhas an upcoming anime adaptation.
