The former UFC champion announces his retirement in Heartfelt X Post

The two-time UFC champion Dominick Cruz wanted to go out on his own conditions, but his body had other ideas. Cruz adopted in social media On Thursday, February 6th, and announced his resignation of mixed martial arts in a warm message to the fans and the MMA community.

Cruz had hoped to fight for Rob font in a retirement scrap, which he had previously referred to as his “last dance”, but a problematic shoulder mixed the fight and forced the 39-year-old to retire.

The injuries were an evil but constant part of Cruz’s history since he came to the UFC in July 2011. Cruz was awarded the first UFC men in Bantamweight when the WEC transport was absorbed, where he won the title with a victory over Brian in 2010 and defended the belt twice before the merger.

Cruz consolidated his reputation as a champion when he defeated his rival Urijah Faber in his UFC debut 2011 at UFC 132. The fight was a remaining after Faber Cruz defeated the submission in her first fight in March 2007.

Cruz ‘reign as a UFC champion ended after he had missed almost three years from 2011 to 2014 due to ACL and groin injuries. He returned in 2016 to regain the title of Bantamweight by defeating Tj Dillashaw, who had won the title in Cruz.

After a successful defense against Faber in June 2016, to end her trilogy, Cruz later lost the title to Cody Garbrandt this year.

Injuries continued to plague him and lasted him for years. Cruz returned in 2020, but suffered a co -defeat against Henry Cejudo. He won Casey Kenney and Pedro Munhoz before another co -defeat against Marlon Vera in 2022, which unfortunately will be the last struggle of the Legend’s career.

The next stop for Cruz is the UFC Hall of Fame.

The UFC is in Australia. The Pay-Per-View event is led by DRICUS DU Plessis against Sean Strickland. The Co-Main event has defended her title against No. 1 candidate Tatiana Suarez.
