“The Housemaid” movie starring Sydney Sweeney is filming in New Jersey

Look for Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried to travel to New Jersey to film The Housemaid in the coming months.

Based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Freida McFadden, The Housemaid is a psychological thriller that follows Millie Calloway as she begins working as a maid for Nina and Andrew Winchester. During her time with the Winchesters, Calloway discovers dark secrets.

The film adaptation of the novel was announced in October, when McFadden wrote in an Instagram post: “I can’t express how excited I am to announce that #TheHousemaidMovie is coming soon! Lionsgate came up with the absolute perfect cast and director, and I’m just so grateful.

The thriller is being brought to life for Lionsgate by director Paul Feig, known for Bridesmaids and A Simple Favor.

Sweeney, known for “Euphoria” and “Anyone but You,” will play Millie, along with Seyfried, known for “Mamma Mia” and “Mean Girls,” who will play Nina.

Andrew is portrayed by North Jersey native Brandon Sklenar, who recently starred in the film adaptation of “It Ends with Us,” which also filmed in multiple locations in the Garden State.

As The Cinemaholic reports, filming is scheduled to begin on January 3rd in New Jersey and end on February 14th, 2025.
