“The court does not draw such a conclusion easily or hastily. In fact, the defendant has had enough opportunity to correct or explain their actions. None of their answers was satisfactory,” wrote the judge.

Boasberg ordered all planes that were turned over on Saturday, March 15, while the White House in the air had signed that President Donald Trump signed an executive regulation in which the law on the extraterrestrial enemies – a rarely used war power – in order to desport the alleged members of a Venezolan gang.

The plaintiff’s lawyers said that their five clients were not members of the Tren de Aragua gang and were sent to a prison in El Salvador without proper procedures.

He added: “If the defendants decide their contempt, they can submit them by April 23, 2025, in a statement in which the steps that they have undertaken and do so.”

The White House did not immediately comment on the judgment.
