SATURDAY

Two cold fronts are moving toward Kansas City, bringing cloud cover, stronger winds, significantly colder conditions and the possibility of frozen precipitation.

OVERNIGHT

A new cold front will develop from the northwest and move south.

It will continue to push through the dense cloud cover, but will still accumulate moisture from the south, creating the potential for a few isolated thunderstorms in the north, moving into the metropolitan areas.

This hustle opportunity is very weak and is not expected to result in any significant crowding that could alter your outdoor plans, be it an early morning prep with the smoker or getting the RV ready for the drive over to Arrowhead.

TO COUNT

Temperatures will have already dropped as low as 23°C as Chiefs fans line up to wait for the parking lot gates to open.

This will be the daytime high as temperatures are expected to fall throughout the afternoon and evening.

The front itself is expected to remain just south of Interstate-70 and move west to east across the region.

This will allow just enough time for the snowfall to redevelop and move from central Kansas into our area. Light thunderstorms or dust is expected to accumulate south of the Interstate loop, but between 9 a.m. and noon it is possible for a few flakes to fly downtown and toward Arrowhead

Again, we don’t expect any significant accumulation that could change your outdoor plans, although the cold air and strong winds will cause problems.

START

Temperatures are expected to be between 17° and 21° throughout the game.

Wind gusts between 20 and 25 miles per hour are common. Not only could the wind affect the kicking game, it will also make it feel even colder. Fans should dress appropriately to keep temperatures between 5° and 10° throughout the game.
