SALT LAKE CITY – TiI for the most notable quotes of 2024. Every year, Yale University compiles a list of the most memorable phrases or sentences uttered by a prominent person in the past 12 months.

Some of these quotes will end up in books, some won’t. Almost all of them focused on politics. But weren’t we all this year?

The No. 5 quote of the year came shortly after a bullet grazed Donald Trump. The words “Fight Fight Fight” will undoubtedly go down in the history books.

Tim Waltz. Do you remember Tim Walz? Candidacy for the office of Vice President. Number 4 was his mistake in the vice president debate…

“I made friends with school shooters, I saw it.”

And see if you can spot a theme here. The No. 3 quote of the year is the Trump quote that sparked a million tweets.

“In Springfield they eat the dogs, the people who came in. They eat the cats.”

Cats got a second bill. But not today. Because according to Yale, the number one quote of the year comes from Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala, which she signed off with the words “Taylor Swift, childless cat lady.”

This raises the question of whether this quote was really that important considering who won the election. And secondly, two quotes that relate to cats? Let’s scratch… and remember that everything that happened this year… 2024… will now be remembered as…
