The NFL analyst predicts a massive trade with New England Patriots LB

The New England Patriots were very active on the Free Agent market this low season. You have made such splashes as the signing of a defensive tackle Milton Williams and Cornerback Carlton Davis to tighten your defense on several levels. And while you have taken these steps to improve your defense and your greatest remaining needs are on the offensive side of the ball, an analyst says that the next big step of the patriots could take into account in the form of a defender.

Anthony Palacios from Last Word on Sports sees the Carolina Panthers in a trade in Patriots Linebacker Ja’whaun Bentley and an agreement on the design day.

“The biggest need for the Panthers in this low season is a line backer because Jadeveon Clowney gets older and Josey Jewell needs more experience,” writes Palacios. “Bentley has both the veteran status and the experience that could culminate together in order to finally make something for this Carolina defense,” argued Palacios. “They had the worst unit last year, but Bentley could change things as long as the new signatory Tershawn Wharton could open these holes in the middle.”

Bentley only appeared in three games in 2024 for New England because a torn chest muscle was torn. In the last three seasons he had performed in at least 16 games and made up over 100 duels in each of these campaigns. The patriots signed the former Linebacker of Raiders and Steelers, Robert Spillane, at the beginning of the Free Agency, so that a step in which Bentley was involved in the face of the movements they made in the position. Bentley was drafted by the patriots in the fifth round of the NFL design in 2018 and appeared in 83 games of his career.
