The “One More Chapter” teaser for “The Last Of Us Part 3” prepares us for the end – Playstation

During a current documentary about the creation of The Last of Us Part 2Developer Neil Druckmann confirmed that he has a plan for the third game, but that this will likely be the end of the story.

“The first game had such a clear concept of the unconditional love that a parent feels for their child,” Druckmann explained.

“In the second part, when we settled on the idea of ​​pursuing justice at all costs and justice for the people you love, we felt, ‘There’s a clear concept here and there’s a through line from that first game that’s about love.’ If we never do it again, that’s a good ending, the story is over.”

He added: “The great thing about working at Naughty Dog is that we don’t have to. It’s always like, ‘We’d love another Last Of Us, but if you feel like you’re passionate about something else, then we’ll support that other thing.’ It’s a very privileged situation, I never take that for granted. I was just thinking, “Is there a concept?” And for years I couldn’t find that concept, but recently that’s changed and I don’t have a story, but I have this concept that’s just as exciting to me is like 1, as exciting as 2, is its own thing and yet for all three it feels like there’s probably another chapter to this story.

As sad as we feel knowing the end is near, we can safely bet that it will be a long time coming. Intergalactic doesn’t even have a release date yet, which leads us to believe The Last of Us Part 3 is little more than a twinkle in Druckmann’s eye at this point.
