The Oura Ring is a Great fitness tracker for minimalists. It tracks your sleep, heart rate variability, skin temperature and more while you sleep, and the app shows you how rested and ready you are every day. Today, the Gen 3 ring is available at its lowest price yet, starting as low as $221 for some models.

To understand what you’re getting, I’ll break down Oura’s product offering:

  • The Gen 3 ringreleased in 2021, comes in Horizon style (smooth) and Heritage style (with a flat area on top of the ring). It is available in overall sizes 6 to 13.

  • The Gen 4 ring, released in 2024comes in one form, a smooth one. It is available in additional sizes: full sizes 4 to 15.

The inner surface of the newer ring doesn’t have the sensor bumps that the Gen 3 has, and the company says its sensors are slightly more accurate. But honestly, both rings have similar functionality. As a Generation 3 owner myself, I’m not at all jealous of people who own a Generation 4.

Oura has been running a 3rd Gen sale for a while now, but today the price of some models has dropped even further. Here’s what I see in it Horizon Style on Amazon:

  • Silver: $235 for sizes 9 and 11, $249 for the rest (normally $299)

  • Black: all $249 (normally $299)

  • Brushed titanium: $261 for size 10, $279 for the others (normally $349)

  • Gold: $335 for sizes 8, 9 and 10; $349 for the rest (normally $449)

  • Rose gold: $321 for size 9, $335 for size 10, $349 for the rest (normally $449)

  • Stealth (matte black): $267 for size 13, $270 for size 11, $279 for the rest (normally $349)

And clean Heritage with the flat top:

  • Silver: $221 for size 10, $230 for size 13, $249 for the rest (normally $299)

  • Black: $221 for size 9, $230 for size 11, $249 for the rest (normally $299)

  • Brushed titanium: Out of stock

  • Gold: $349 for all (normally $449)

  • Rose gold: Out of stock

  • Stealth (Matte Black): $279 for all (normally $349)

These prices are of course subject to change and some models are not available in all sizes. These are the older models, after all, and Oura seems eager to clear out old inventory. The Gen 4 Oura Ring Is not on offer for Cyber Monday (and not for Black Friday either). The price for each color is $50 more than the regular price of the Gen 3 rings, so $349 for black and silver, $499 for gold and rose gold, and so on.

By the way, if you want something to track your workouts and not just your sleep, Oura might not be the ring for you. You’ll probably want either a Garmin or a Whoop band to get the best sleep data And Track your workouts; I recently a Showdown between the Oura Ring and the Whoop Band. The Whoop Band won, partly because of activity tracking and partly because of price. (Oura and Whoop both have subscription fees. For a breakdown of the numbers, see this link.) And if I’m starting to convince you, I’ll add this Oops is Also offering a Cyber Monday deal.

All in all, the Oura Ring is an excellent sleep tracker that can be paired with a fitness watch or to keep an eye on your health without having to worry about activity tracking. If you don’t mind the $5.99/month subscription fee, grab the ring.
