The Packers nominate Kenny Clark for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Green Bay Packers officials announced Thursday that they have nominated defensive lineman Kenny Clark for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.

According to a press release from the Green Bay Packers, this is the second time Mark Murphy and the Packers organization have nominated Clark for the award; his first nomination came in 2018.

We are proud to nominate Kenny Clark for this prestigious award for the second time. Kenny is a respected leader in the locker room and makes his presence felt off the field as well. His commitment to the community in both Green Bay and Southern California has only grown as he has excelled in his career. His commitment to giving back to young people is particularly impressive and we are lucky to have him on our team.

Team officials say Clark has used his platform to make a difference for children, families and those in need throughout Wisconsin and his home region of Southern California since he first entered the league in 2016.

Clark’s foundation, the Clark Family Dreams Do Come True Foundation, reportedly focuses on equipping youth with the resources and mentorship they need to succeed, regardless of their upbringing.

Over the summer, Clark’s foundation hosted its 8th annual “Kenny Clark Dreams Do Come True” football camp in California, giving hundreds of area children the opportunity to learn and play football for free with NFL players and coaches.

All 32 nominees, one from each NFL team, will be honored for their performances prior to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. The winner of the award will be announced at the NFL Honors on Thursday, February 6.

According to officials, each nominee will receive up to $55,000 to donate to the charity of their choice, while the winner of this year’s award will receive a donation of up to $265,000. All donations are to be made possible by the NFL Foundation and the Nationwide Foundation.
