The Pittsburgh Steelers offense receives great news with the return of the explosive wide receiver

With wide receiver Calvin Austin III, the Pittsburgh Steelers were able to avoid the worst-case scenario. Austin suffered a concussion against the Cincinnati Bengals, but his full practice on Thursday shows he is well advanced in the concussion protocol, clearing the way for his game on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

A breakout player in the last two games, Austin has already set career highs in receptions, yards and touchdowns in his third year and his first true year as a starting wide receiver. Austin has proven he has downfield speed counterparts with Russell Wilson.

That’s another reason why Pittsburgh should have its punt returner back. It came down to who the punt returner would be if Austin didn’t play, and that likely would have been either wide receiver Scotty Miller or return specialist Jamal Agnew.

Either way, the Steelers appear to be fully healthy, and that includes Austin, who has become a key part of the passing attack and is one of the most explosive units in the NFL.
