The newbie is finally returning to the small screen, although fans will be missing a familiar face in Season 7. Per Screen Rant, series showrunner Alexi Hawley shared an update on Valentino’s possible return at some point in the future. Hawley confirmed that Valentino’s firing was for creative reasons, but did not specify what caused the problem with his presence. In any case, the door remains open for a future return, as Officer Thorsen is “very much alive” in the world of The newbie – even if he’s off-screen.
