The Senators failed to make it three wins in a row

Just a minute later the game was tied again as the Kings fought back to make it 2-2. It was Kevin Fiala’s ninth goal of the season that gave the Senators the lead at 7:26.

With both teams unable to score for the remainder of the period, the Senators once again entered the break tied with the Kings.

Similar to the first period, the scoring began at the start of the third period when the Kings regained their lead after just 1:37 minutes. It was captain Anze Kopitar who scored his eighth goal of the season to give his team a 3-2 lead.

The Kings struck again with 3:46 to play, this time on the power play after a man-man penalty against the Senators. Adrian Kempe buried his 12thTh Goal of the season, doubling the Kings lead to 4-2 late in the game.

Towards the end of the period, the Senators were two points behind with goaltender Anton Forsberg as an additional attacker, trying to cut into the Kings’ lead.

Trevor Moore scored his fourth goal of the season into an empty net with 1:34 left to seal the victory for the Kings and extend their lead to 5-2.

The Senators will look to regroup and get back on their feet tomorrow when they travel to Anaheim for a quick scrimmage against the Anaheim Ducks at 8:00 p.m. ET.
