‘The Traitors’ Claudia Winkleman Reveals Season 3’s Huge New Twist ‘Will Keep Viewers on the Edge’

Get ready for some twists and turns of epic proportions as the new series of The Traitors is set to be the most exciting yet.

The series begins on New Year’s Day when a new group of players compete for the £120,000 jackpot.

The producers have promised new twists and “a whole new game” for players.

Presenter Claudia Winkleman, 52, has also hinted at a new show format, but isn’t revealing too much.

When asked if there are any twists in the new series, Claudia said on a recent panel: “I can’t tell you.”

The Traitors host told The Sun: “I mean, yes and no, I can’t tell you. I’m sorry. I realize this is annoying. There’s a twist this year that I think will keep people on the edge of their seats.”

Speaking about the specific missions of this season, Claudia said: “The missions in the third season are really, really exciting. I love them and hope the viewers love them.

“They’re getting bigger and better, and this year they’re more of a part of the bigger picture of the game than ever before…”

The return date of The Traitors was recently confirmed by the BBC and an eerie new trailer starring Claudia Winkleman was released.

In the preview, viewers are immediately transported back to the successful reality show in the dramatic teaser.

The short clip shows several hooded figures carrying the lanterns as they return to their infamous castle hideout.

Then, as fireworks light up the screen, the traitors’ bright logo flashes.

Claudia’s voiceover says cheekily: “Start the new year with a bang.”

The Strictly Come Dancing presenter will meet the new strangers in what the company describes as the “ultimate game of discovery, deception and trust”.

Stand-up comedian and presenter Ed Gamble, 38, is also returning to the show.

Episodes of the spin-off will again be available directly following each episode of the main show on BBC Two and iPlayer.

The first two episodes of the series will air on screen at 8 p.m., with the rest of the series airing an hour later.

As in the last series, the successful reality game show format will air on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.

The third series of The Traitors premieres on Wednesday, January 1 at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
