The tri-fold device is still not available, but Huawei’s Mate X6 foldable will launch globally soon

This year, Huawei caused a stir with the release of the world’s first Tri-Box.foldable phone that Huawei Mate XT. While that model remains in China, at least the company’s “traditional” foldable Huawei Mate X6 has just received a global launch date.

Of course, for Huawei, “global” still doesn’t mean the US, but our international readers will be interested to know that the global launch of the Mate X6 will take place on December 12, 2024.

This tweet from Huawei is apparently related to the aforementioned Mate. We know some of its specifications – a 7.93-inch OLED 120Hz folding screen with 1800 nits, up to 16GB of RAM, IPX8 dust and water resistance and a 5110mAh battery.

So it’s going to be a beast, and unlike the Chinese version, it should run full Android, unlike Huawei’s home region HarmonyOS.

It’s still early to talk about prices, but for reference: the previous Huawei Mate Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Pixel 9 Pro Fold users would quickly buy it instead.
