The temperatures are getting colder. Caldwell PD has been looking forward to one of their favorite events this time of year – the “Wrapped in Warmth” coat drive.

“We normally hold it this time of year and collect as many coats as we can for the children in the community as well as monetary donations,” Caldwell PD Sergeant Jesse Cooper said.

Sergeant Jessie Cooper tells me that the campaign has been running for a number of years and each year they hope to exceed their last fundraising figures. This year, all monetary donations will go to Advocates Against Family Violence.

“Dutch Brothers Coffee is partnering with us again – for every new coat donated to the coat drive they will receive a $10 gift card,” said Sergeant Cooper.

They also accept used coats, but you will only receive a gift certificate for a new coat.

“We love being able to host these community events to help those in need. I personally helped take on this role because I was one of those kids growing up,” said Sergeant Cooper.

The two participating Duch Bros hosting the Nov. 30 event are the Dutch Bros on Cleveland and Specht Avenue.

“So it’s great to be able to give back and help the kids in need,” Sergeant Cooper said
