These Alabama shelters are open during cold weather

JasperThe Swann Gym is located at 1020 Kiker Lane and is open at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 BirminghamThe Jimmie Hale Mission: Located at 3420 2nd Ave North, The Jimmie Hale Mission has expanded its warming station and is now open Sundays, December 1st. through December 3, open nightly from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. CST. Those requiring transportation to the Jimmie Hale shelter can be picked up at Linn Park on 20th Street N. The mission accepts donations of washable blankets, oranges and bananas, paper plates and breakfast bars or snacks. This list is continually updated. Each station’s opening hours vary depending on the day and temperature.
