Thick fog remains. Here’s what you need to know

Good morning, Idaho. Prepare to give yourself more time on the roads this morning.

As the temperature inversion continues to intensify, dense fog will continue to be a problem for the morning commute. The inversion is expected to strengthen Wednesday through Thursday. When you head to work in the morning, be sure to turn on your headlights and give yourself and the car in front of you a little more room on the road. The fog begins to mix around midday, leaving hazy but sunny skies.

It appears that the inversion will weaken on Friday as an upper level low approaches the area. This would push a strong cold front through the region and end the inversion. Additionally, there could be a good chance of precipitation in northern Idaho over the weekend.

The chance of rain is reflected in McCall’s forecast for Saturday, with snow showers expected Sunday as temperatures near freezing again.
