This has been called NJ’s signature must-try side dish

Sure, Thanksgiving is over, but what was voted New Jersey’s best must-try side dish wouldn’t go well with Thanksgiving anyway.

Ooooh, the foreshadowing!

But I’m not telling you yet because I was hoping you could think about it for a moment. Stacker analyzed trends and cultural influences to determine each state’s signature side dish that everyone should try at least once.

Think about the food in New Jersey. We are known for our excellent pizza. But would that be a side dish? As much as I would like it to be, it’s not like that. Bagels? Hmm, that would be a strange addition, but perhaps the definition could be expanded.

If it occurred to you that disco fries were a side dish and that they were unique to New Jersey, you’d be right. But is this the side dish that Stacker absolutely chose for New Jersey?

After all, Jersey is known for its food. I’m not sure if that would make their job harder or easier. Look at Colorado. All they could think of was Rocky Mountain oysters. In case you don’t know, it’s a fancy name that will make you forget you’re eating fried bull testicles. They’re served with spicy aioli or cocktail sauce, but I don’t care what they’re served with, I won’t forget that I’m eating something as disgusting as a bull’s testicles.

If you’re scrolling through these states to find the must-try side dish in the Garden State, you might feel sorry for Delaware. You own Scrapple. Delaware? Is that all you have?

And if you come to New Jersey, the reason Thanksgiving may not have gone well is because certain things are in season. Keep scrolling and find out.
