I’m your neighborhood reporter Jessica Davis at the Riverside Hotel, where shoppers can shop from over 75 local small businesses here in the Valley.

“I think supporting locals and artisans is just a good way to keep communities vibrant and support the people who make the place beautiful,” says Kelly Knopp, owner of Boise Og.

This is Boise is hosting its first Winter Wonder Market, a free event bringing together more than 75 vendors on Saturday for small businesses.

“I think the mystery is probably our most popular occasion, where everyone can reminisce about all the old things they remember,” Knopp says.

Kelly Knopp is the owner of Boise OG, a company that preserves Boise’s history by making stickers, board games, hats and books.

Knopp says: “I just grew up here and saw how quickly things change.”

A lot of the things that me and my friends have fond memories of growing up here just don’t exist anymore, so it’s just a really nice and fun way to keep those memories alive.”

Shoppers will find everything from art, clothing and accessories, hair care products, groceries, kitchenware and more.

Aaron Mcfarland, owner of This is Boise, says, “This is Boise has always been a big supporter of local small businesses and supporting our local economy, so it seems to fit right in with what we do.”

Aaron Mcfarland is the owner of This is Boise, the first Winter Wonder Market.

He is excited to give local businesses the opportunity to share their products with the community.

Mcfarland says: “It’s good for everyone, it’s good for our jobs and good for the local economy. Just keep the money there. There are many options like Amazon or online shopping, but if you can support your local vendors and people in your community, I will always do that.” I think that’s the best thing you can do.

The Winter Wonder Market begins on Saturday, November 30th from 10am to 4pm here at the Riverside Hotel.

In addition to shopping, you can take some free photos with Santa Claus, who will be at the market from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
