Tony Khan calls streaming on Max the biggest opportunity in AEW history

2025 will be a big year for All Elite Wrestling as not only will the company retain its weekly spots on TBS and TNT, but its weekly shows will also air at the exact same time as on MAX. AEW President Tony Khan was recently a guest on the Battleground podcast where he emphasized the importance of the move to streaming and how much it can benefit AEW in the long term.

“We have the greatest opportunity in AEW history since we first launched on TNT and TBS,” Khan said. “This is huge for us to be able to stream on Max and broadcast at the same time.”

Khan explained that it is still important to gain a foothold in cable television, but given the momentum streaming has gained in the last decade, it would be foolish not to try to use it to their advantage. “Streaming is the future and Max is the best-in-class streaming platform. That’s where we want AEW to be. That has been the goal for years. I’ve talked about this for years. It’s a dream come true, and now for everyone.” Cord cutters and the people who use Max, it will be great to have live streaming on Wednesdays and Saturdays every week. At the same time we are on TBS and TNT. It gives fans multiple ways to watch the show it will definitely increase our audience many times over.”

AEW has already begun promoting the January 1, 2025 episode of “AEW Dynamite.” Not only will this be AEW TV’s first episode to air on MAX, but it will also be their Fight For The Fallen special, where proceeds from the show will be used to raise funds for victims of the Collect hurricanes in Ashville, North Carolina.
