Top 3 NBA bets and player props for Timberwolves at Mavericks

Even within a single NBA game, there are numerous betting markets.

You can bet on traditional markets like the spread or total, but we also have plenty of player prop markets to browse.

Which bets stand out today as the Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Dallas Mavericks?

Let’s look at the best bets in FanDuel Sportsbook’s NBA betting odds and use FanDuel Research’s NBA predictions to find value.

Timberwolves at Mavericks betting tips

Timberwolves -2.5 (-114)

The Timberwolves have not been firing on all cylinders lately, losing four of their last six games. Despite Minnesota’s recent struggles, Dallas fared slightly worse, losing four of its last five games, while Luka Doncic was out of the lineup this season and posted a 10-11 record.

In addition to Doncic missing another game on Wednesday, the Mavericks have a lengthy injury report that includes Klay Thompson, Dereck Lively, Naji Marshall, Quentin Grimes and Jaden Hardy. Aside from Donte DiVincenzo being unavailable, the Timberwolves are expected to be nearly healthy for Wednesday’s game against the Mavericks.

Of the 11 losses Dallas suffered without Doncic’s inactivity, all were by more than three points. With Anthony Edwards showing more aggression in recent games for Minnesota, the T-Wolves are in a good position to cover this line as they have an impressive 13-10 record against the spread (ATS) on the road this season ) have achieved.

Anthony Edwards scores more than 30 points (+160)

As mentioned above, Edwards has been more aggressive on offense in recent games. Since expressing frustration with being frequently double-teamed during possessions following a loss to the Boston Celtics earlier this month, Edwards has scored more than 28 points in eight of his last 10 games.

Additionally, Edwards has scored 30+ points in 6 of his last 10 games, so it’s worth adopting his alternate score in Wednesday’s game against Dallas.

In his last 10 appearances, Edwards averaged 21.9 field goal attempts per game, 10.5 three-point attempts per game and 8.5 free throw attempts per game and posted an effective field goal percentage of 56, 8%, a three-point percentage of 48.6%. and 87.1% free throw rate during that span.

Even though the Mavs rank 10th in adjusted defensive rating (111.4), they offer Edwards the potential to play faster as Dallas operates at the ninth-fastest pace.

With Dallas dealing with a number of injuries and Edwards taking over much of Minnesota’s offensive output, the All-Star guard could be in for another 30-plus point outing.

Daniel Gafford over 1.5 blocks (-128)

Although the Mavericks lost 110-105 to the Charlotte Hornets in their last game, it wasn’t due to a lack of performance from Daniel Gafford. Gafford posted a season-best total in points (31), rebounds (15) and blocks (7) in the loss to the Hornets as he made his third straight start while Dereck Lively was sidelined with a sprained ankle.

While Lively’s return without restrictions on Wednesday could shake things up, I’m still willing to see Gafford post two or more blocks against the T-Wolves. Gafford has racked up multiple blocks in each of his last six starts, and Minnesota is a team that takes quite a few shots at the center position.

In addition to ranking 21st in block rate allowed (10.3%), the Timberwolves also give up the fifth-most blocks per game (2.6) against centers this season. As long as Gafford makes another start for the Mavs on Wednesday, it’s worth upping his blocks to four-plus in a sneaky matchup against the T-Wolves.
