Chief Content Officer Triple H
has spent the last few weeks hyping the highly anticipated Netflix premiere of Raw on January 6th. The last WWE Raw took place on the USA Network this Monday. At the end of the show, Triple H posted five fire emojis on his X account (formerly Twitter). Why? If you missed the end of Monday Night Raw on December 30th, CM Punk and Seth Rollins, two of WWE’s best wrestlers right now, just signed up for the segment of the year at the last minute with a passionate and heated exchange of words before theirs Clash next week.

A few names and sensitive references were deleted

CM Punk and Seth Rollins are on a collision course when they finally go one-on-one on the Netflix premiere of WWE Raw on January 6th. But before the two superstars meet, The Best In The World and The Visionary had a heated exchange on the microphone to cap off Raw’s final show on the USA Network.

The two threw heavy verbal bombs at each other and even dropped a few sensitive innuendos. Before Punk arrived, Rollins spoke about how the former AEW star picked up his ball and left the company. Then the Chicago native came into play and countered with an allusion Vince McMahon
the exiled former WWE CEO.

“The most industrial, cliched sentence I have ever heard in my life. What model of virtue did you take this from? Who originally said that?” – CM Punk

The line “took his ball and went home” was first said by McMahon afterwards Ice cold Steve Austin
left the company in 2002. Punk asked Rollins if he thought Austin “took his ball and went home.” The Chicago native then asked Seth if he thought his wife, Becky Lynch, had done the same thing. The seven-time Women’s Champion has not appeared on WWE television since May 2024.

Of course, Rollins didn’t take this sting sitting down. He replied that Becky was back home raising her child, which CM Punk couldn’t do anything with. Rollins also added that Punk has done nothing but disparage WWE during his absence, even referencing the 46-year-old’s tumultuous AEW run.

“You’ve taken every single opportunity to try and destroy this place and you still haven’t succeeded. And then you took a big chunk of change to enter the competition. How did that work out for you?” – Seth Rollins

As expected, Punk had a comeback ready and decided to make another nod to Vince McMahon. This one almost got Rollins.

In the end, no fists were thrown. These will be saved for next week. But CM Punk and Seth Rollins sold their impending clash with a masterful voice on the mic. It’s hard to blame Triple H for posting those five fire emojis. Punk and Rollins may not like each other, but when they work together, together they create magic for WWE fans.
