Trump announces a 90-day break for tariffs for non-retaling countries

In a post on X shortly before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Trump wrote:

Due to the fact that more than 75 countries have called representatives of the United States, including the trade departments, the Ministry of Finance and the USTR, in order to negotiate a solution to the topics that are in relation to trade, trade barriers, tariffs, currency manipulation and non -monetary tariffs, and that these countries, in no strong proposal, and in the suggestions in which the united states are not in any suggestions The United States has rewarded. A significantly lowered mutual tariff during this time of 10%, also immediately effective.

However, Trump said that the duties against China would now increase to a total of 125%that are immediately effective.

“Due to the lack of respect that China has shown in the markets of the world, I hereby increase the tariff, which is charged with the United States from America to China, to 125%that are immediately effective,” he wrote. “Hopefully at some point in the near future, the days in which the USA and other countries are torn down will no longer be sustainable or acceptable.”
