Trump calls Biden’s letter to him “very nice” and says he can publish it

President Donald Trump said he opened the letter that former President Joe Biden left him at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, calling it “very nice” and suggesting he might make it public.

“Basically it was more of an inspirational letter, you know? ‘Joy, do a good job. Important, very important, how important the job is.’ But I think it was a nice letter. I think I should show it to people because it was positive for him that I really appreciated the letter,” Trump told reporters Tuesday night.

Trump appeared to have discovered the letter Biden left him in the Oval Office on Monday night while speaking to reporters.

When asked if he had found the letter, Trump opened his desk drawer and apparently found the letter for the first time. It was in a small white envelope with “47” underlined on the front.

“It could have taken us years to find this thing. Wow, thank you,” Trump said.

Biden continued the tradition of leaving a letter to his successor – a tradition that Trump continued in 2020 when he left after his first term and handed the office to Biden.

Trump also reflected on his return to the Oval Office when asked by ABC News how it felt to be back in the White House.

“What a great feeling, one of the better feelings I’ve ever had,” Trump said.
