Trump cuts us off from the UN Human Rights Council, forbids Unrwa financing

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday Setting the US setting with the UN human Rights Council and the ban on financing for the UN aid agency for GAZA.

Trump had withdrawn the United States from the UN Human Rights Council during its first government, but former President Joe Biden resigned. In 2023, US funds made almost 30% of Unrwa donor contributions.

The United States is currently not a member of the council, but is considered an observer.

The Council consists of 47 Member States, including those with documented records on human rights violations such as Cuba, Russia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, China and Qatar.
