Trump donors who donate at least million or raise million will gain first-time access

President-elect Donald J. Trump is raising money for his inauguration in increments of up to $2 million, materials from inauguration fundraisers show.

A flyer titled “Benefits of the Trump Vance Inaugural Committee” lists the benefits of donating $1 million or raising $2 million for the event. Donors who reach this elite level will receive up to a half-dozen tickets to eight inaugural events from January 17-20.

After a contentious election, donors and corporations typically pour a lot of money into presidential inauguration committees to support the president and also to curry favor with an administration that will be in power for four years. There are no restrictions on donations to the Trump Committee, which is structured as a political nonprofit for tax purposes. However, gifts over $200 are disclosed to the Federal Election Commission.

Highlights of the event schedule for the elite donors and fundraisers include a Cabinet selection reception and dinner with Vice President-elect JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance on Jan. 18, and an “elegant and intimate dinner with…” President Donald J. Trump and Mrs. Melania Trump” on January 19, described as “the culminating event.” Prior to the distribution of this leaflet, Ms. Trump had not confirmed her plans to attend the inaugural ceremonies, which include an interfaith service on Sunday morning that she plans to attend with Mr. Trump, according to the documents.

On Monday, January 20th, the major donors will each receive six tickets for the inauguration itself.

Mr. Trump’s first inaugural committee, which was investigated by federal prosecutors for illegal foreign donations and resulted in a 12-year prison sentence for one donor, raised $107 million in 2016 and 2017. The current inaugural committee is led by billionaire real estate mogul Steven Witkoff, who has donated nearly $2 million to Mr. Trump’s political causes over the last decade and was named special envoy to the Middle East, and Kelly Loeffler, a former Republican senator from Georgia .

Mr. Trump also continues to raise money for his political efforts. On Dec. 19, he is scheduled to headline an event at his private Florida club, Mar-a-Lago, for a pro-Trump super PAC, MAGA Inc., that will raise $1 million, according to a copy of the tickets -dollars per person cost invitation from the New York Times.
