Trump lawyer Alina Habba sparks controversy after taking on right-wing influencer as Ben Shapiro urges MAGA to drop ‘evil fraudster’

In Alina Habba’s fawning interview with Andrew Tate, Ben Shapiro begs the MAGA movement to drop the accused Romanian rapist.

Habba, who is set to serve as an adviser to the president in his second term, praised Tate for his fight against the establishment and said the allegations against him were similar to those faced by Trump.

Earlier this week, a Romanian court lifted a house arrest order against the internet personality, although he continues to face allegations of forming an organized criminal group, human trafficking, trafficking in minors, sexual intercourse with minors and money laundering. Tate has denied any wrongdoing.

“I think your anger is the same as President Trump’s anger for our country, and now is the time for us to stop being wimps,” Habba said on The Benny Show, hosted by conservative commentator Benny Johnson .

She added that she sympathizes with Tate because he’s “going through a lot of what President Trump went through.”

“There’s literally only one person with the same amount of anger and fire.” That’s probably me and President Trump. But it’s because you love what’s right and you’re under siege. And I see it and I just keep fighting, I mean, I’m here for it!’

Tate responded kindly, adding that he would call Habba if he ever made it to America and needed a lawyer.

That set off alarm bells for Shapiro, who launched his own show on Monday with the headline: “The Right Should Dump Andrew Tate.”

Shapiro denied that Tate and Trump were similar and then explained the differences between their cases.

“Andrew Tate is a crap sandwich at best.” “He presents himself completely differently to each audience.”

He claimed that Tate would change his views depending on who he was talking to: sometimes a “cheap, anti-feminist speaker,” other times “an anti-Semitic radical willing to break any taboo for the fringe.”

Shapiro then criticized Tate for his behavior toward women, accusing him of, among other things, making money by having girls appear on “sex cams” and being caught on video talking about beating women.

Ultimately, he is actually a fraud. And he’s actually kind of an evil fraudster,” Shapiro said.

He continued in the 24-minute clip, believing Tate was a “pimp, a pornographer” and a man who “makes his money grooming women for the sex industry.”

Shapiro compared Tate to the British “grooming gang” scandal and said Tate behaved similarly.

“He literally made millions of dollars from this thing.”

Habba — who has not yet responded to Shapiro — began advising Trump on legal issues in 2021.

She reportedly met the former president at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, as her law firm, Habba Madaio & Associates, is located nearby.

In the run-up to the 2024 election, Habba became a MAGA mainstay, defending Trump through television appearances and becoming a popular figure at his rallies.

“She has emerged as one of (Trump’s) most trusted advisers,” a source told DailyMail.com earlier this month.

It remains unclear whether she will remain in touch with Tate, one of the most controversial men on the internet.

Tate has been under house arrest since August, when prosecutors opened a second criminal investigation against him, his brother Tristan and four other suspects.

An initial criminal case against Tate collapsed in December when the Bucharest Court of Appeals decided not to try Tate but instead send the case back to prosecutors.

The decision, which cited flaws in the indictment, was a major blow to Romania’s organized crime law enforcement unit, DIICOT.

On Tuesday, the judges lifted the house arrest measure as part of the second criminal case.

“This ruling represents a decisive step forward and grants (Tate) the freedom to travel throughout Romania while respecting the necessary legal conditions,” his representatives said.

As part of the lighter preventative measure, known as judicial control, Tate is required to report to the police periodically and is not allowed to contact other suspects or witnesses in his case. He cannot leave Romania.

The Tate brothers, both former kickboxers with dual US and British citizenship, are the most high-profile suspects on trial in Romania for human trafficking.

They also have a British arrest warrant and will be extradited after the Romanian court case is completed, a court ruled in March.
