Trump supports Johnson remaining as chairman of the House of Representatives

President-elect Donald Trump gave Mike Johnson his “full” and “total” support for next month’s expected fight to retain the House speakership.

“The American people need relief IMMEDIATELY from all the destructive policies of the last administration. Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard-working, religious man,” Trump wrote on TRUTHSocial Monday. “He will do the right thing and we will continue to WIN. Mike has my complete and unwavering support. MAGA!!!”

Trump, who called Republicans the “party of common sense,” also added a warning to Republicans.

“We ran a flawless campaign in which we spent MUCH LESS and had a lot of money left over. They ran a very expensive ‘sinking ship’ and used the weapons of the DOJ and FBI against their political opponent, ME. BUT IT DIDN’T WORK, IT WAS. “A Disaster!!!” Trump wrote, adding, “Let’s not blow this great opportunity we’ve been given.”

The president-elect reaffirmed his victory in the “great and historic presidential election of 2024” after he and Vice President-elect JD Vance captured seven swing states, 317 Electoral College votes and the popular vote of millions of voters.

“Republicans are being praised for running a ‘legendary’ campaign! “Democrats will be resented for their efforts in wasting $2.5 billion, much of which went unaccounted for and some of which was used to illegally purchase advertising,” Trump wrote.
