Trump, to consider TikK Sale options on Wednesday with top officials

Washington -President Donald Trump will meet on Wednesday with top members of his administration to consider potential investors who could acquire a participation in TikTok so that the popular social media app continues to work in the USA, as a source confirms the USA Today.

The meeting, which was first reported by CBS News, comprises Vice President JD Vance, Minister of Commerce Howard Lutnick, the national security consultant Mike Waltz and director of the National Secret Service Tulsi.

The Chinese parent company of Tikok, Bytedance, is faced with a deadline for selling its participation in the app on April 5 or is banned in the USA after Trump has extended a period in January that was determined by the Congress last year. The legislator has tried to find a non -Chinese buyer for the app due to national security concerns.

“I can persistence if I want, but we have a lot of enthusiasm for Tikkok to buy it,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday. “I think Tiktok is good.”

According to several media reports, the private -equity -giant Blackstone and the software company Oracle are part of the discussions about the acquisition of TikTok. CBS reported that the Trump administration also reviews a long list of private equity companies, risk capital companies and important tech investors than other potential investors.

It was not clear whether Trump would deregister a final TIKTOK deal at the session.

Trump did not rule out on Monday that the tariff quota, which he wants to impose for imports from China, as part of the announcement of far -reaching mutual tariffs on Wednesday, when a deal is achieved for the sale of TikKok.

“Maybe I’ll take a few points when I get permits for something,” said Trump as an answer to a reporter’s question. “I didn’t do it. Maybe I’ll do it, maybe I won’t. But it’s a very good question.”
