Tyler police say missing boys have been found safe

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – An AMBER Alert was issued around 1 a.m. Friday for two children believed to be missing in Tyler. Tyler police said the 3- and 4-year-old boys were seen on video getting into a vehicle. However, they were found and safe around 1:30 p.m.

They were back with their family on Friday at 7:15 p.m., the police said.

According to Tyler Police PIO Andy Erbaugh, officers responded to an urgent missing call at 4123 S. Park Drive at the Evergreen Apartments around 7:10 a.m. The caller said her two children had not been seen since Dec. 12 at 10 p.m.

The missing children are Legend Sanford, 3, who was last seen wearing a blue Paw Patrol shirt with black/red/white pants, and Kannon O’Neal, 4, who was last seen wearing wore a black shirt, black trousers with blue and red striped trousers. Police said the boys were brothers.

According to police, there was no evidence of foul play on Friday morning and no information about her mental/physical condition.

In an interview, Lt. Luke Shafer said the children were seen on Ring camera video getting into a vehicle, possibly a gray CX 3 Mazda, around 1 a.m. The family said they don’t know anyone who drives a vehicle of this type.

“It appears they probably sneaked out of the house and were later seen picking up,” Shafer said.

Around 1:30 p.m., Erbaugh said police found the children at a residence in the 800 block of East Grande Boulevard based on a tip they received. The children remain with the authorities until they can be reunited with the family.

Police said the case remains under investigation.
