UCLA Bruins Insider Podcast: Senior Spotlights and more

The Bruins have three running backs and five linebackers who are seniors and will play in the Rose Bowl this weekend and finish their careers. Rushers Keegan Jones, Jalen Berger and Anthony Adkins are all honored in their final contest.

On the defensive side, veteran linebackers Kain Medrano, Oluwafemi Oladejo, Ale Kaho, Joseph Vaughn and JonJon Vaughns will all likely see snaps against the Bulldogs. Medrano and Oluwafemi were the stars all year, but all five guys contributed in some way.

The Bruins will face the third-best defense in the Mountain West as the Bulldogs are very good at stopping the passing and running game. They allow a total of 353.8 yards per game, just over 200 yards through the air and just under 150 yards on the ground.

The Bulldogs’ senior defensive back is the star defensive player in pass defense with a team-high five interceptions. He has recorded 39 tackles, seven pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 11 games this season.

On the basketball court, the Bruins are on a five-game winning streak and hope to extend that into Big Ten play when they host the Washington Huskies (5-1) at Pauley Pavilion. The Huskies’ first-year head coach Danny Sprinkle is one of the better coaches in the game right now and is tough to beat.
