UE -Frauenbasketball receives the second MVC victory against Bradley

Evansville, Ind. – The University of Evansville women’s basketball team led almost 30 minutes against the Bradley Braves for almost 30 minutes on Thursday evening.

The purple asses achieved their second victory in the Missouri Valley conference in a defensive fight against Bradley. After Ue had dropped her street competition in Peoria just by a basket, she switched on the gas to move away from the good in the fourth quarter. Three Evansville players ended the night in double-digit figures, while the newcomer Gubers Palmer (Union, Ky. / Randall K. Cooper HS) set with six career height in May fields.

“I am very excited how our children played this evening, especially in the second half,” said head coach Robyn Scherr. “I thought we did really good work every quarter to create just enough separation. And when we went into the fourth quarter, I said to these boys. Nobody would be shy Hope we didn’t make a mistake.

The aces had a hot start on Thursday evening and shot 50% off the ground in the first quarter. Senior Guard Júlia Palomo (La Seu d’Urgell, Spain) started with three goals in the first 40 seconds. In the first three minutes, only Treys was achieved until Palmer had her first of five buckets in color. Ue held the lead in the first to half when Bradley banded the game with less than four o’clock. Evansville held the lead until the last minute. The braves took over a short lead at the end of the first one, but the aces have gained the upper hand in the last seconds.

It was a slow second quarter for UE because it took two minutes to make a basket. Both teams had a two-and-a-half-minute goalless series in the middle of the second. Evansville dissolved the drought when Palmer cut into the basket. The aces and Bradley exchanged shots to the last one and a half minutes of half. The braves put together a five-point run to pull UE with one point into the half.

Bradley kept the swing to the start of the second half when Evansville brought the game three times in the first three minutes. The aces drove in advance in an eight-point run in advance, since the good no longer score for over five minutes. UE had a lead of six points with 2:16 in the third quarter. But a three-point run for Bradley made it only a three-point lead in the last 10 minutes of the game.

The aces had their quarter of the night in the last 10 minutes, starting with a seven-point run for a two-digit lead. The Braves were able to answer with a short four-point run. The defense of UE looked up a level after the run and did not have Bradley achieved several baskets in a row for the rest of the game. Evansville ended with a 12: 5 run to win the team’s second win of the season.

The Freshman Guard Camryn Runner (Cicero, Ind. / Hamilton Heights HS) cited the aces thanks to 14 made free throws with 17 points and four templates. Palmer scored almost 14 points with 14 points, while the second striker Maggie Hartwig (Sauk City, Wis. / Sauk Prairie HS) had her seven double double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Although Palomo did not achieve much more than 33 minutes, the UE led six templates to distribute the crime over the ground.

Evansville will play his annual Play4kay game to raise awareness of the fight against breast cancer on Saturday afternoon. On February 15, the aces will carry in their game against the state of Illinois Pink Accessoires. The reference to the Redbirds in Meeks Family Fieldhouse is set for 2 p.m.
