UPDATED: AMBER Alert lifted: Children found safe

FISHERSVILLE, VA (NOW CVILLE) – The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office announced that the three children abducted from a bus stop in Fishersville were found safe at 6:15 p.m. The AMBER warning issued has now been lifted. Authorities have not released any further details at this time. For more information, please contact the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office. FISHERSVILLE, VA (NOW CVILLE) – The children abducted from their school bus stop in Fishersville were taken away from their mother, according to the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office. Shanice Chante Davison, 35, of Evergreen, Alabama, is believed to be on her way back to Alabama with her biological children in tow. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Shanice Davison or the children is asked to immediately call the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office at 540-245-5333. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Augusta Crime Stoppers at 800-322-2017. However, people should NOT approach them.

The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office provides an update on the case involving the recent kidnapping of three children. After an extensive investigation, we have determined that the estranged birth mother, Shanice Chante Davison, 35, of Evergreen, Alabama, is responsible for her disappearance.

Based on the evidence collected, it is believed that Ms. Davison is traveling with the children and is likely on her way back to Alabama. The safety and well-being of the children remains our top priority and we are working diligently with law enforcement in all states to locate them.

Shanice Chante Davison is described as an African-American female, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 6 feet 1 inches tall, black hair, brown eyes. She may be driving a black four-door sedan. The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has not determined tag information on the suspect vehicle at this time.

We ask anyone with information about the whereabouts of Shanice Davison or the children to immediately contact the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office at 540-245-5333; Investigator Ron Reid. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 800-322-2017.

“This is an active investigation and we are committed to reuniting the children with their guardians as quickly and safely as possible,” said Sheriff Donald Smith. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available. There is currently no immediate threat to the Augusta County community.

Important note: If you see Shanice Davison or the children, do not approach them. Instead, contact local law enforcement. Davison is believed to have passed statehood and is no longer in Virginia.

Shanice Davison is currently wanted by the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office on three counts of Kidnapping under VA Code 18.2-47.

FISHERSVILLE, VA (NOW CVILLE) – Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse have issued an AMBER Alert following the abduction of three siblings at a bus stop in Fishersville on December 5, 2024. Authorities say 10-year-old Jai’ Marcus Elijah Lewis, 8-year-old Ja’Miyah Tiana Lewis and 6-year-old Ja’Liyah Monae Lewis are believed to be in extreme danger. They were last seen at Bobby’s Way Apartment Complex and may be with their birth mother, Shanice Chante Davidson, who may be traveling in a black late-model Nissan Sentra. Jai’Marcus was last seen wearing unknown clothing, while Ja’Miyah and Ja’Liyah were wearing pink coats.
