US and Russia in “serious” discussions about the Ukraine war, says Trump

US President Donald Trump said Sunday that members of his administration are already in discussions with the Russian authorities about the termination of the Moscow War against Ukraine.

“We will speak and I think we may do something that is important,” said Trump reporters in the White House. “We want to end this war,” he said, referring to the conflict in Ukraine.

Trump has not stated which members of his administration were in discussions with Russian officials or described the type of these talks and only said: “We have discussions … already talking, yes.”

When asked whether he personally spoke to the Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone, Trump told reporters: “I don’t want to say that.”
