Vehicle ends up on roof of Nampa resident after fatal accident

NAMPA, Idaho – Around 9:12 a.m. Sunday, a vehicle speeding westbound on East Amity Avenue took a turn too aggressively at the intersection of Diamond Street and ended up entering a residential area before becoming airborne and landed on the roofs of two residents.

According to a news release from the Nampa Police Department, the car landed on a roof and destroyed a chimney before landing on another roof next door. The car damaged a power line. Residents reported that neighbors lost power as a result. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

There was a driver and two passengers in the vehicle in question. The person in the passenger seat was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and other passengers were injured in the incident and transported to area hospitals by Canyon County paramedics.

Although both houses suffered significant damage, no residents were injured in the accident.

None of the injured or deceased people have been identified as authorities work to notify families. This is an ongoing investigation.
