BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) – The identities of the suspect and victims in a Thanksgiving Day murder-suicide in Bainbridge have been released by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

According to a press release from the GBI, at approximately 10:51 a.m. Thursday, November 28, the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI’s assistance in the investigation of a double homicide on Hunter Road in Bainbridge.

Sheriff’s Office officers initially responded to the scene and discovered that a man and a woman had been shot inside the home.

The GBI identified the victims as 36-year-old Shendora Adams and 19-year-old Tyiun Adams. Both were taken to the GBI crime lab for autopsies.

He is believed to be an ex-boyfriend of Shendora.

After the shooting, he fled to Ocala, Florida, where he later allegedly shot himself, according to the GBI. The GBI says he died of his injuries later Friday evening at a Florida hospital.

When the investigation is complete, it will be forwarded to the South Georgia Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
