Video shows a person setting cars on fire at an auto repair shop in Milwaukee

WISN 12 News obtained surveillance video that shows someone setting several cars on fire at an auto repair shop in Milwaukee. The fire started just after 2 a.m. Friday at the Ruby Isle Auto on Silver Spring Drive near Lovers Lane Road, west of Timmerman Airport and the Little Menomonee River. John Kalupa, the owner of the auto repair shop, said Milwaukee police called him Friday morning to tell him about the fire. “You get into a catastrophe,” Kalupa remembers. “You’re not sure if the business is going to go away, you don’t know what’s going to happen. You don’t know what’s going on.” Surveillance video shows a man setting a car on fire, and then a moment later. The fire destroyed three other cars and caused minor damage to several others. According to Kalupa, the five destroyed vehicles belonged to customers. Kalupa said it could have been much worse: “He had … targeted those two cars. And I don’t know why the others didn’t go up,” he said. The police have no one in custody. Kalupa said he did not know the person who set the fires and had no clues about a motive. According to authorities, no one was injured in the fire.
