The Sabarmati Report Box Office Collection

The Sabarmati Report, based on the 2002 Godhra train fire incident in Gujarat, is still running in theaters. According to Sacnilk, the film deserved 28.25 crore at the domestic box office, in the 17-day run so far. When it hit theaters last month, it also turned out to be the biggest opening in Vikrant’s solo career. However, it soon drew comparisons with Vikrant’s breakout hit from last year, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail, as the daily numbers were not increasing at the same pace as that one.

12th Fail proved to be a sleeper hit when it succeeded 56.38 crore at the Indian box office. Based on the true underdog story of a UPSC aspirant, it has been produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films. Even when it premiered digitally on Disney+ Hotstar several weeks after its theatrical release, 12th Fail continued to attract audiences to theaters. The film ran for 14 weeks in theaters in India last year. Vikrant had another release between 12th Fail and The Sabarmati Report – Aditya Nimbalkar’s crime thriller Section 36, but it released directly on Netflix India.

Vikrant announces his resignation

Vikrant took to his Instagram account on Monday morning and shared a note that said, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. Thank you to each and every one of you for your unwavering support (namaste emoji). But the further I progress, the more I realize it’s time to recalibrate and return home. As a husband, father and son. And also as an actor.”

“So in 2025 we would meet for the last time. Until time sees fit. The last two films and many years of memories. Thanks again. For anything and everything in between (red heart emoji). Forever in debt (red heart emoji),” the note read. Vikrant will next be seen in Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan.

Catch every big hit…
