Volleyball falls to LSU in Friday’s season finale in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama volleyball concluded its 2024 season Friday afternoon at Foster Auditorium, falling to LSU in four sets, 21-25, 25-23, 25-27 and 17-25.

After the game ended, Alabama (11-16, 3-13 SEC) honored its six seniors on the court as part of its Senior Day ceremony. The Crimson Tide’s senior class includes Francesca Bertucci, Chaise Campbell, Kayla Keshock, Malia Moore, Natalie Repetti And Paris Thompson. LSU (15-12, 7-9 SEC) won the first set 25-21 before Alabama tied the game with a hard-fought 25-23 win in the second set. The third set also ended with a 23:23 draw between both teams. The Tide twice held the Tigers back from set point before the visitors finally prevailed with a 27-25 win to take a 2-1 lead. The momentum continued in the fourth set as the Tigers led throughout en route to a 25-17 set win and a 3-1 match win.

“I’m proud of these ladies. We’ve done a lot of great things together and I’m sad that our season is over. I am proud of what they have done for this program. They laid the foundation for this. “We continue to grow Alabama volleyball. This program is moving in the right direction.

NOTES

  • Paris Thompson led the team with 16 kills, her second-highest total in SEC play this year
  • Callie Kieffer finished with 14 assists and 10 digs, good for her fourth double-double of the season
