Walmart just recalled 12,000 boxes of chicken broth

According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), there is an active recall for approximately 12,138 cartons of chicken broth sold at Walmart. This is due to a packaging issue.

The affected 48-ounce paper cartons were inexpensive chicken broth products purchased at Walmart locations in Alabama and Arkansas. The affected chicken broth has a best before date of March 25, 2026 and the UPC number 007874206684 printed on each carton. The chicken broth is being recalled because, according to the FDA, “there is a risk of packaging defects that could compromise the sterility of the product and lead to spoilage.”

Inspect your chicken broth and if it matches the recall information, discard it or return it to your local Walmart for a full refund. Since the product spoils quickly, consumption can lead to food poisoning. If you experience symptoms of illness after consuming the recalled chicken broth, contact your doctor as soon as possible.

To report an illness related to this recall, file an online report through the FDA Safety Reporting Portal or call 1-888-INFO-FDA (1-888-463-6332) for telephone reporting or additional information to request information.
