Affordable housing developer Walters has been on the rise in recent weeks after taking home five awards at an annual New Jersey Apartment Association gala.

The Barnegat-based company announced last week that the NJAA recognized its team in four categories – maintenance technician, maintenance manager, regional manager and curb appeal – during the program Nov. 6 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Franklin. Walters also received the coveted Management Company of the Year award in the Affordable Housing category, noting that the award is presented by a panel of peers and industry experts from New Jersey and beyond.

To be considered for an award, nominees were required to submit an application, photographs, letters from residents and/or peers, and other supporting documentation.

“These awards validate the hard work and dedication of our team,” said Joe Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing at Walters. “Our entire staff plays a critical role in providing residents with an exceptional living experience.”

Walters’ individual honorees included:

  • Maintenance Technician: Matt Krauchick
  • Maintenance Manager: Joe Campanella
  • Regional Manager: Rylie Smith
  • Curb Objection: Cornerstone in Branchburg, Cornerstone in Holmdel

“With our incredible members continually raising the bar, the competition for a Garden State Award has never been fiercer,” said David Brogan, NJAA Executive Director and CEO. “As our industry faces new and evolving challenges, this outstanding group of highly professional property owners, property managers, developers and sellers exemplifies the best our industry has to offer.”
