Warming temperatures, rain over the next few days in Massachusetts – Boston news, weather, sports

After some slippery patches early in the morning, temperatures will be warm enough for rain to continue for the rest of the day. There will be scattered rain until late afternoon, with only scattered drizzle for the rest of the day.

The greatest amount of precipitation will be over southeastern Massachusetts this morning through the afternoon.

Otherwise the clouds will remain quite dense today. Highs will reach the upper 30s and lower 40s, although this will occur later in the day than normal, closer to the early evening hours.

Overnight temperatures will be in the high 30s and low 40s. There may be isolated light rain, patchy drizzle and dense fog in places. Be careful on the roads. Sunday will be a similar day to Saturday: cloudy, chance of rain and even warmer.

Temperatures will fluctuate greatly. Northern and central Massachusetts will spend the day in the 30s and 40s, while southeastern Massachusetts will spend the day in the 40s and 50s. By Sunday evening, most of us will have reached the 50 degree mark.

Monday: more rain, temperatures around 50°C and also some wind. We’ll be dry for most of New Year’s Eve, with highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s. However, we will see a return in the chance of rain on New Year’s Eve.

This chance continues through New Year’s Day, with highs in the mid to upper 40s. On Thursday we’ll be back in the high 30s and low 40s, with partly sunny skies and a cool breeze. Then the actual cooldown begins. Friday, highs around 30 degrees, partly sunny skies and cold wind! The rest of the weekend the following week looks much colder than average.
