Watch Brian Walshe In Court Live Stream – NBC Boston

Brian Walshe, the Massachusetts man accused of killing his wife Ana and dismembering her body in 2023, is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing Monday afternoon.

Walshe was last in court in early October, where his attorneys raised questions about the integrity of the Norfolk County murder investigation. In response to the scandals that have recently rocked the county: the Karen Read murder trial and the alleged murder of Sandra Birchmore by a Stoughton detective, his defense team filed a motion seeking a large amount of documents related to the Norfolk County Law Enforcement requested.

The October hearing was continued until this week to give the parties time to review a large amount of discovery, including cell phone data from Trooper Michael Proctor, who was the lead investigator in both the Read and Walshe cases and has been without one since Suspended with pay admitted unprofessional conduct that included derogatory comments about Read and her health.

Prosecutors also said they are still waiting to receive all DNA evidence in the case, which was initially expected earlier this year.

Ana Walshe was reported missing in January 2023, and a few weeks later her husband Brian Walshe was arrested on charges including murder, misleading an investigation and improper movement of a human body. He is currently being held without bail and a trial date has not yet been set.

The Walshe case is one of the most high-profile murder cases in the region in recent years. Just days into 2023, Ana Walshe was first reported missing, and as the search for her became increasingly desperate, her husband Brian was charged. He was initially charged with misleading the police and ultimately with murder. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The body of the 39-year-old mother of three was never recovered. Prosecutors alleged Brian killed her early on New Year’s Day in her Cohasset home, dismembering her body and throwing it in the trash.

Brian allegedly conducted a series of Google searches on his son’s iPad about dumping a body.

Prosecutors will likely have to rely on digital evidence — including DNA lab tests and internet searches — to secure a jury conviction since Ana’s body was never found, criminal justice experts told NBC10 Boston.

While searching for Ana, law enforcement eventually found in a dumpster near Brian’s mother’s home clothing and jewelry that Brian Walshe said she was wearing when she left her home early on New Year’s Day, as well as a hacksaw containing a bone fragment located. prosecutors said.
