WATCH: Frisco congressman and acting Secret Service director get into shouting match at hearing

On Thursday, a North Texas lawmaker clashed with the acting head of the Secret Service on Capitol Hill.

The argument between Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Frisco) and acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe occurred during a congressional hearing on the Secret Service’s failure to prevent the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.

Fallon questioned Rowe at a 9/11 memorial ceremony about his role in protecting then-candidate Trump, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Fallon accused Rowe of siding with the leaders even though he wasn’t directly responsible for protecting them.

“I think it was a vanity project. I think he auditioned for the job,” Fallon exclaimed.

Rowe claimed he was at the event to show respect for the Secret Service members who died on September 11th.

“Oh. That’s a lot of horse hockey,” Fallon replied.

“Don’t invoke 9/11 for political reasons,” Rowe said.

At the start of the meeting, Rowe promised accountability for the Secret Service and acknowledged its failures over the past year.

Rowe says the preparatory work leading up to Trump’s speech in Butler, Pennsylvania, did not meet the agency’s standards.

Since then, the agency has begun deploying more security forces and expanding the use of drones.
