Jackson, Williams under Jamaican stars in action at Florida Meet


Rohan Watson, Rushen McDonald and Long Jumper Ackelia Smith were the Jamaican winners at the Miramar Invitation on Saturday, a meeting with the Continental Tourver meeting of World Athletics, which took place in the Ansin Sports Complex in Florida.

Watson, a former national 100-meter champion and finalist in the 60 m run of men at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in China last month, performed 9.99 seconds (2.7 m/n) to win the 100 m profits of the men with 10.03 seconds (4.3 m/s) earlier a day. Yohan Blake was second with 10.06 seconds and Bryan Lvell was fifth with 10.16 seconds (4.0 m/s).

Rushen McDonald won the rarely contested 300 -M race in 32.39 seconds. Meanwhile, Smith opened her jumping season with 6.74 m (0.0 m/s) in the long jump, while Tissana Hanson was fourth with a wind -insulated 6.63 m/s.

Briana Williams was second in the 100 m of women and led a wind of 11.07 seconds (3.3 m/s). Natasha Morrison finished third in 11.08 seconds and Serena Cole was fifth in 11.25 seconds when American Kayla White won 10.99 seconds.

Shericka Jackson personally ran personally in the 300 m of women in 300 m, 35.69 seconds from a Jamaican behind Patricia Halls and Merlene Ottys 35.83 seconds. Julien Alfred von St. Lucia won with 36.05 seconds, a national best brand.

Nigel Ellis was second in the 200 m in a wind-insulated 20.52 seconds (3.5 m/s) with the sprint hurdle at Rasheed Broadbell second in 20.79 seconds.

The national record holder Danniel Thomas-Dodd was fifth with 18.80 m and Lloydricia Cameron with 17.41 m with second second when American Maggie Ewen won 19.25 m.
