Memphis, tenn. – For parts of the middle south, a rare and dangerous high risk (5/5) was spent on storms. This is the highest risk that the Storm Prediction Center has issued and signals the potential for widespread, life -threatening storms.

What is to be expected today – all serious dangers in playing

timing: Most storm is expected later on the day and until Thursday.

Key

Strong tornados, long tornados are likely. Some could be EF3 or stronger.
Hearing wind gusts – wind gusts of over 70 miles per hour, especially in Squall lines and segments.
Large hail – hailstones up to 2 inches with discrete super cells.
Fall floods – rain falls hard and fast. Several centimeters possible in only hours.

This is not a typical storm day. These storms will be able to produce durable, violent tornados, especially in northeast Arkansas, the stand and in the northwest of Tennessee. The conditions are cheap so that storms can quickly strengthen.

Strong south winds also outside of storms
Persistent 25–30 miles per hour, gusts of up to 50 miles per hour
Can knock down tree members and cause scattered power outages

Flood watch (until Saturday)

10 to 15 inch rain like along and north of I-40
Rapid-on-in-law floods awaits today and tomorrow
Rivers and streams will rise – some in a large flood phase

High risk of falling floods on Thursday

The floods become even more dangerous on Thursday if the rain lasts and the floors are fully saturated. Some areas can become impassable.

7-day outlook

Wednesday: Heavy storms probably in the late afternoon. Tornados, hail and wind possible. High: 85 ° F | Windy | 60% chance early, 90% chance tonight. Wednesday evening: Widespread storms, some serious. The Tornado threat takes until the early hours of the morning. Low: 65 ° F | 90% chance

Thursday: Rounds with heavy rain and storms. Floods become the main threat. High: 76 ° f | 90% rain chance Thursday evening: Continued rain and thunderstorms. Localized storm is still possible. Low: 67 ° F | 80% chance.

Friday: Storms probably again. The flood threat remains high. High: 84 ° f | 70% storms. Friday evening: Storm chances continue. Low: 70 ° F | 50% chance.

Saturday: More rain and storms – possibly difficult. Still warm and airy. High: 79 ° f | 90% chance. Saturday evening: Heavy rain and possible storms continue. Low: 54 ° F | 90% chance.

Sunday: Finally dry out. Just a few early showers. High: 61 ° f | 20% chance.

Monday: Sunny, dry and cooler. High: 62 ° f | Low: 42 ° F.
