Weather-related delays and cancellations in Tri-State for January 23, 2025

Delays and closures

Due to inclement weather, the following cancellations and delays have been announced for Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Postponements and cancellations

  • Blue Ridge Community and Technical College The main campus and Pines will open at 11 a.m. Thursday due to road conditions. The Tech Center opens as planned. Employees in critical operational processes report to their superiors.
  • Berkeley County (W.Va.) Schools (PreK-12) will remain closed Thursday due to continued low temperatures and poor road conditions in parts of the county. This will be another remote learning day for students. Evening activities are canceled.
  • Jefferson County (W.Va.) Schools (Pre-K – 12) will be closed Thursday as many roads in Jefferson County remain covered in ice and temperatures are expected to remain below freezing through Thursday morning. Students and teachers will work on a non-traditional classroom schedule. A decision on exercises and activities will be made by Thursday afternoon. The offices open at 9:00 a.m. Key employees should contact their manager about scheduling.
  • Morgan County (W.Va.) Schools. will take place for students on Thursday with a two-hour delay. Employees follow reporting code D.
  • All City of Hagerstown trash and recycling collection Normally collection will be delayed by one day from Monday to Friday of that week. For example, normal Wednesday pickup occurs on Thursday, etc.
