Week 18 Prediction: Marvin has 2.5+ receptions

Marvin Mims Jr. comes to life as the Broncos season comes to a close.

He had 3+ receptions in five straight games, including 8 receptions on 8 targets in last week’s game against the Bengals.

Whenever a player catches everything that comes his way, you can bet the playcaller and quarterback will have a lot of confidence calling his number the next week.

I think that’s what happens in a must-win game when the Chiefs rest their starters.

The team is looking for ways to get the explosive Mims more on the ball.

This week, coach Sean Payton said: “He has that vertical speed and can keep the ball in his hands well as a runner. We saw his confidence grow as a receiver, runner and returner.”

OK Joe Lombardy added: “There are a lot of variables that come into play on these downfield shots. Marvin Mims Jr. has been working in our favor lately. But getting him into the backfield, throwing swing screens to him, giving him the ball — those are times when you can guarantee he’ll get the ball, and he’s made the most of those opportunities. I think we did a better job of integrating those into the offense for him.”
